From the download to a broken connection, find a fix without the runaround

First time with Clash, or stuck on a config or a connection? The short answers are here — installs, subscriptions, and the fixes that come up most often.

What is Clash?
Clash usually means a family of rule-based proxy tools, plus the projects around them. Clients can ship different cores and cover different systems. This site walks through the graphical apps and core projects in that ecosystem — not one official product.
Is Clash free to download?
Most of the open-source clients are free on their GitHub Releases page. Download from a release page you trust, and read the notes and checksums. We don't host installers we haven't checked.
Can I still use Clash for Windows?
The original Clash for Windows stopped in 2023. Old builds may still open, but they don't get security or feature updates. If you're starting now, use Clash Verge Rev or FlClash, and read the migration notes.
Which build should I download on Windows?
Start with Clash Verge Rev — it's built on Mihomo and still maintained. If you want the same app on more than one system, look at FlClash too. Match the installer to x64 or ARM64.
Which build should I download on a Mac?
Clash Verge Rev or FlClash. Pick the Intel build or the Apple silicon build, not both. After install, macOS may ask you to allow a network extension or a related permission.
Where should I download these clients?
Each project's GitHub Releases page, or the download link in its own docs. We point you there. We don't replace that release channel.
Why are there no nodes after I install?
The app itself usually doesn't include working nodes. Import a subscription or config you obtained legitimately and that the client supports. Then the proxy groups and node list show up.
The subscription link won't import. What now?
Check that the link loads, that the format matches the client, and whether you need a custom User-Agent or a manual refresh. You can also save the config file and import it locally. The subscription guide covers the usual snags.
What's the difference between rule mode and global mode?
Rule mode splits traffic by domain, IP, and rule sets. Global mode sends more of your traffic through the proxy. For everyday browsing, rule mode is the one that keeps local sites direct and sends the rest out.
Clash can't connect. What should I check?
Work down the list: is system proxy or TUN actually on, is the node up, has the subscription expired, is a firewall or security tool blocking the app, and is a rule sending that site the wrong way?
