Our take
Not the one to install first
Best for
History and migration
Don't install an unmaintained client if you're starting fresh. If you open old builds, verify the source and checksums yourself.

Before you install

  • This is an independent guide. Get installers from each project's GitHub Releases.
  • After download, match the version, filename, and checksum (SHA256 when the project publishes one).
  • Clients don't ship with working nodes. Import a subscription or config you obtained legitimately.
  • Skip mystery “cracked” builds and pages that promise an official high-speed download.
